Work being undertaken on behalf of KIDSTEM:
Developing an embryonic stem cell-based therapy to replace nephrons lost through reflux nephropathy.
Our goal is to develop culture conditions that promote:
- differentiation of embryonic stem cells ‘ESc’ into metanephric mesenchymal cells;
- undergoing nephrogenesis following transplantation into mouse kidney rudiments ex vivo.
