Work being undertaken on behalf of KIDSTEM:

Optimise protocols and culture conditions for isolating resident adult
human stem/progenitor cells from different components of the nephron;

Compare the ability to differentiate and the plasticity  of the resident
stem/progenitor cells isolated from the different parts of the nephron;

Study the molecular mechanisms that drive differentiation;

Compare the developmental potential of different human renal
stem/progenitor cell populations following transplantation into mouse
kidney rudiments.
